Class of 2027 three-star edge rusher Braylon Otis flipped his commitment from Boston College to Syracuse, he announced on social media Sunday. Otis is the 72nd-best edge rusher in the 2027 class and fifth-best player in New York, per 247Sports.
The Liverpool, New York, native held Power Four offers from Kentucky and Virginia before committing to BC on Feb. 9. He flipped to SU after visiting its campus over the weekend.
Otis, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound defender, currently attends Liverpool High School, just 20 minutes from Syracuse’s campus, where he’s posted 10 career sacks. Otis racked up seven sacks in 11 games in 2025 while making 18 tackles.
He’s the second edge rusher to join the Orange’s 2027 class after Bradyn Paulozzi committed on April 13. SU’s 2027 recruiting class now includes 16 players and ranks 31st nationally.
