Elijah Kimble, New York’s top prospect in the class of 2027, per 247Sports, has committed to Syracuse, he announced Friday. The running back chose the Orange over almost 40 other offers, including reigning national champions Indiana, North Carolina and UConn.
Kimble is a three-star recruit from Canisius High School (New York) and was awarded the Connolly Cup in December 2025 as the best player in Western New York. At Canisius, he’s rushed for 5,325 yards and 73 touchdowns in three varsity seasons. He’s averaged 8.9 yards per carry.
Kimble replenishes SU’s running back corps after two class of 2027 backs — three-stars Sa’Nir Brooks and Xavier Bala — decommitted from the Orange on June 9 and June 10, respectively.
Ahead of the decision, the Orange had the 35th-best 2027 recruiting class, with Kimble as their 24th three-star commit.
