Syracuse volleyball released its 2026 schedule Thursday. The 29-match season opens with five nonconference road contests across two tournaments and ends with 20 Atlantic Coast Conference matches against six programs that finished in last year’s American Volleyball Coaches Association’s top 25.
The Orange begin against Cincinnati on Aug. 29 before facing Illinois, the weekend tournament’s host, on Aug. 30 for the first time in program history. SU then travels to Ithaca to face three in-state opponents. They play Howard for the first time ever on Sept. 3 and UAlbany on Sept. 4 before matching up against Cornell the following day.
Syracuse will then compete in the Women’s Building for the first time. As part of the ACC-SEC Challenge, the Orange host Arkansas on Sept. 9 in the sides’ first meeting since 2017. SU then visits Canisius, which it’s never lost to, on Sept. 13.
The Orange then play a six-match homestand, hosting the Syracuse Invitational, when they battle Fairleigh Dickinson on Sept. 18 and Buffalo on Sept. 20.
Following the tournament, Syracuse begins ACC play against Louisville on Sept. 25, Notre Dame on Sept. 27, SMU on Oct. 2 and Pittsburgh on Oct. 4. Besides the Fighting Irish, each foe placed top 15 last year.
Syracuse embarks on a four-match road trip against teams it lost to last year — NC State on Oct. 9, Wake Forest on Oct. 11, Georgia Tech on Oct. 16 and Clemson on Oct. 18. SU returns home to face Virginia on Oct. 23 and Virginia Tech on Oct. 25.
Syracuse heads to the Tar Heel State for matches against North Carolina on Oct. 30 and Duke on Nov. 1. On Nov. 4 and Nov. 8, the Orange play a home-and-home series with Boston College, which they split last year.
The Orange then host Miami on Nov. 13 and Florida State on Nov. 15 before traveling to the West Coast for a pair of matches against Stanford on Nov. 20 and California on Nov. 22.
SU plays Duke again for its final home match of 2026 on Nov. 25. Three days later, it rematches Notre Dame on the road for its final contest.
Coming off a disappointing 11-game losing streak to end its 2025 season that was once promising with a 5-4 ACC start, head coach Bakeer Ganesharatnam and Co. seek their first winning season since 2021.
