Syracuse forward Aubrey Turner was named to the Preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team, the conference announced Friday morning. It’s Turner’s first career selection, joining a list of the ACC’s top-13 players. Turner is one of two sophomores featured.
In her freshman season, Turner started all 20 games and netted an impressive 18 points, including seven goals and four assists. Of those goals, two came in SU’s season opener against Lock Haven, and three were game-winners in other matches.
Turner’s breakout campaign continued into the playoffs against Liberty. In a double-overtime victory, Turner played all 80 minutes and sent the Orange to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals with a penalty stroke-off goal.
With Syracuse voted fifth in the Preseason Coaches Poll, behind North Carolina, Virginia, Duke and Wake Forest, Turner will aim to propel SU back to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth straight season.
