DPS identifies 3 people who made antisemitic comments toward SU student

Syracuse University’s Department of Public Safety identified and issued a no-trespass order to three people unaffiliated with SU after a Tuesday bias incident at the Shaffer Art Building, according to a Wednesday DPS release.
At approximately 3:55 p.m. on Tuesday, a group of SU students reported that three people entered the Shemin Auditorium, sat next to them and made antisemitic comments toward one of the students before leaving.
DPS officers responded immediately and searched the building and surrounding area. Through a follow-up investigation, one of the students “positively” identified all three people involved, according to the release.
“The quick action of our officers resulted in the immediate identification of those responsible,” DPS Chief Michael Bunker wrote. “Antisemitic and bias-motivated behavior has no place at Syracuse University. We take this incident seriously and we remain committed to ensuring every member of our community feels safe on campus.”
DPS offered support services to the students involved.
