Top-20 2027 forward Moussa Kamissoko commits to Syracuse

Top-20 class of 2027 forward Moussa Kamissoko has committed to Syracuse men’s basketball, he announced on social media Friday. Kamissoko is head coach Gerry McNamara’s first top-20 recruit of his tenure.
The Bronx native is rated as a five-star and the 14th-ranked recruit in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports Composite, which averages in-house 247Sports scouting scores with other major recruiting networks’ ratings. 247Sports lists Kamissoko as a four-star and the 19th-best prospect in the class.
The publication also ranks him the best small forward in the class.
Kamissoko chose the Orange over offers from UConn, Florida, Virginia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Alabama and others.
The 6-foot-7, 180-pound forward played his most recent high school season at SPIRE Academy (Ohio). The school was listed as the No. 1 high school team in the country ahead of this season. Previously, he represented Long Island Lutheran (New York) and Trinity-Pawling High (New York).
Kamissoko is the first top-20 high school recruit to commit to Syracuse since Donnie Freeman, who joined SU in 2024 but transferred to St. John’s after two seasons in April.
Kamissoko is the second player to commit to Syracuse in the 2027 recruiting class, joining forward and fellow New York native Jack Donohue.
