SU men’s cross country sits at No. 9 in USTFCCCA Poll for 2nd straight week

Syracuse men’s cross country remained at No. 9 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Poll, which was released Tuesday. The ranking comes after SU’s second-place performance at the Meadows Challenge at Princeton last weekend.
The men still remain one spot behind Wake Forest for the Atlantic Coast Conference’s top ranking. No. 4 Alabama bested the Orange at the Meadows Challenge, but Syracuse finished ahead of every other ranked team.
After the women’s team finished fifth and ahead of ranked opponents like Villanova and Penn State at the Meadows Challenge, it’s now the first team outside the top 30. SU’s women received nine votes in this week’s poll, the most among teams that didn’t make it.
Both teams maintained their rankings in the Northeast Regional Poll, with the men’s team still No. 1 and the women’s team No. 3.
Syracuse has a few weekends off before it splits up for NCAA Pre-Nationals in Indiana and the Joe Handelman Princeton Fall Classic in Princeton, both on Oct. 16.
