SU women’s lacrosse gains commitment from 2028 4-star Sedona Kaplan

Syracuse women’s lacrosse landed a commitment from 2028 four-star Sedona Kaplan; she announced on social media Sunday.
The midfielder and draw specialist is the Orange’s third 2028 high school commit with at least three stars, per Inside Lacrosse, added in the last four days, after the class’ recruiting opened Sept. 1. SU also earned commitments from four-star attack Ava Ryan Friday and three-star defender/midfielder Addie Talbott Thursday. Syracuse also landed defender Mya Brown from Watertown Sunday.
Kaplan attends Marriotts Ridge High School (Maryland), where she helped the Mustangs to a 15-6 record, a second-place 6-1 mark in Howard County and an undefeated home record in 2026. She also played for the Baltimore-based Hero’s Lacrosse Club, which produced IL’s first- and third-ranked 2026 five-star recruits Cayden Reese and Kit Laake, who will both play at Maryland this upcoming season.
While Kaplan was ranked outside IL’s top-50 2028 players, the publication gave her an 88/100 grade for her ILWomen Summer ID Experience, tied for the sixth-highest mark in the country. The publication wrote that she effectively uses her speed and size – standing 5-foot-8 – on draw controls and ground ball situations.
