UU puts Juice Jam on ‘indefinite hiatus,’ replaces with Quad-A-Palooza

University Union is placing Juice Jam on an “indefinite hiatus” and will not hold the annual concert for Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF students this fall, it announced Wednesday.
After years of September concerts, the organization will instead host Quad-A-Palooza on Sept. 25, a carnival-themed alternative to Juice Jam. In a Wednesday release, UU said the hiatus was a tough decision and that it hopes to prioritize other event programming.
“Juice Jam has long been a staple of this community. By redirecting that support to our spring concert and Quad-A-Palooza, our team has delivered a strong, seamless transition,” University Union President Lachlan Sartison said. “I am very excited for what’s to come at the end of September.”

While Juice Jam’s future remains unclear, the event has previously brought artists including Quavo, Flo Rida, Flo Milli, T-Pain, Diplo, Tove Lo and more to SU.
The announcement comes nearly a year after UU announced budget restrictions that prompted the organization to reconsider its student programming.
