Syracuse (9-0) earned a pair of shutout victories in New Jersey this weekend. The team won its second Big East game of the season against Rutgers on Friday afternoon 6-0 and then defeated No. 3 Princeton 2-0.

In Piscataway, N.J., on Friday, senior Kelsey Millman scored two goals and sophomore Lauren Brooks scored a goal and recorded an assist. Freshman Emma Russell found the back of the net 11 minutes into the game for the Orange’s first goal. Leonie Geyer and Liz McInerney added the final two goals for the 6-0 win.

Against Princeton on Sunday, Geyer scored the game’s first goal midway through the second half. It was her fifth goal of the season. Russell added an insurance goal nine minutes later.

Senior Leann Stiver recorded her 16th and 17th career shutouts in goal. Stiver made five saves against Rutgers and six against Princeton, the No. 1 offense in the country.

The Orange and No. 5 Connecticut are now the only remaining unbeaten teams in Division I. On Sept. 1, Syracuse beat then-No. 2 North Carolina for its first win of the season against a team ranked in the top three spots nationally.

Two kills from Holly Mertens and Lindsey Gosh helped Marquette clinch the first-set victory.
