Former Montana State guard Bryce Zephir is transferring to Syracuse, he announced on social media Wednesday. Zephir becomes SU’s fifth portal addition this cycle, joining William Kyle III, Nate Kingz, Naithan George and Ibrahim Souare.

Zephir averaged 5.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while starting 15-of-29 games as a junior in 2024, his lone campaign with the Bobcats. The guard began his collegiate career at Chipola Junior College in 2020 — playing alongside former SU center Naheem McLeod — before transferring to North Texas for his sophomore season.

However, Zephir appeared in just 11 games with the Mean Green from 2021-23 before transferring to Salt Lake Community College for the 2023-24 season. There, he averaged 10.4 points in his lone campaign before moving on to Montana State.

Now at his fifth college in his final collegiate year of eligibility, he’ll join J.J. Starling, George, Kingz, Kiyan Anthony and Luke Fennell as part of a deep backcourt group for the Orange.
