Syracuse offensive lineman David Wohlabaugh Jr. has entered the transfer portal, according to a report from On3. Wohlabaugh spent two seasons at Kentucky before appearing in 11 games with the Orange across 2023-24.

On April 7, SU head coach Fran Brown discussed the possibility of the redshirt senior leaving the program.

“I ain’t got time to be sitting here and lying to nobody. He’s thinking about going into the portal because of just what would be best for him, comfort and happiness,” Brown said.

Brown said Wohlabaugh’s decision wasn’t playing-time related, adding he thinks the offensive lineman is an NFL player. In 2024, after recovering from a season-ending injury early in 2023, Wohlabaugh filled in for an injured Da’Metrius Weatherspoon. He started three games and appeared in nine, grading at an 80.0 according to Pro Football Focus.

With Wohlabaugh entering the transfer portal, the Orange still have depth in the trenches. Redshirt sophomore Trevion Mack is stepping into the left tackle position while Weatherspoon is moving to the right tackle spot.
