Syracuse men’s rowing dropped one spot to No. 10 in the Week 3 IRCA/IRA Men’s Varsity 8+ Poll released Wednesday. The ranking is the Orange’s lowest since the poll’s creation in 2021.
The fall follows the SU’s varsity 8 winning its fifth straight Goes Trophy over No. 15 Cornell and No. 20 Navy in Maryland Saturday. The Orange finished 6.5 seconds ahead of the Big Red and 12.2 seconds ahead of the Midshipmen with a time of 6:07.0.
Syracuse started the year at No. 7 in the Poll but was No. 9 for the past two weeks before this week’s slide.
SU looks to win the Packard and Conlan Cups for the second straight year this weekend on Lake Morey in Vermont. The Orange will race against No. 6 Dartmouth and No. 14 Georgetown on Saturday and then versus No. 12 Boston University on Sunday.
