Syracuse offensive lineman Savion Washington has signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent, SU Athletics announced on social media Saturday. The 6-foot-9, 340-pound right tackle started every game for the Orange in 2024 after transferring from Colorado. He is the ninth former SU player to be drafted or signed by an NFL team this offseason.
Washington began his career at Kent State in 2020, though he didn’t become a full-time starter until 2022. Following a breakout campaign where he registered a 75.2 Pro Football Focus offensive grade, Washington transferred to Colorado for the 2023 season.
Washington became the Buffaloes’ primary right tackle, notching a 65.4 PFF offensive grade. However, before his final year of eligibility, Washington entered the spring transfer portal before finishing his collegiate career at Syracuse. His 71.4 PFF offensive grade helped him become an Honorable Mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection.
