Syracuse men’s rowing dropped one spot to No. 11 in the Week 4 IRCA/IRA Men’s Varsity 8+ Poll, the organization announced Wednesday. It’s the Orange’s lowest ranking since the poll’s creation in 2021.
Last weekend, Syracuse’s V8 lost to then-No. 6 Dartmouth, missing out on the Packard Cup. It rebounded to beat then-No. 14 Georgetown and then-No. 12 Boston University to win the Conlan Cup for the fourth consecutive year.
The Orange were 5.26 seconds behind Dartmouth on Saturday morning. They finished 9.2 and 2.9 seconds ahead of Georgetown and BU, respectively.
Syracuse also dropped one spot from ninth to tenth in the Ten Eyck Team Points rankings. It’s tied on points with Northeastern and 33 points behind No. 8 University of Pennsylvania. The 2V8 boat is ranked ninth in the nation, dropping one spot from last week. The 3V8 boat rose one spot, slotting in at tenth.
The Orange return to action on May 18 in Worcester, Massachusetts for the Eastern Sprints.
