Former Syracuse guard Kyle Cuffe Jr. is transferring to Mercer, he announced on social media Friday. Cuffe became SU’s first player to enter the portal on March 21 after averaging 5.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in 30 appearances in 2024-25.

Through two seasons and 59 games with Syracuse after transferring from Kansas, Cuffe came off the bench. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 12.4 minutes per game in 2024-25, notching a career-high 14 points in 36 minutes in SU’s 81-71 loss to Wake Forest on Dec. 31, 2024.

After a strong shooting year in 2023-24, Cuffe’s field goal percentage and 3-point clip decreased in 2024-25. But, he hit two crucial free throws down the stretch in Syracuse’s 66-62 ACC Tournament First Round win over Florida State.

Cuffe marks the fifth player to leave the Orange this offseason, joining Chris Bell, Chance Westry, Elijah Moore and Petar Majstorovic.
