2026 3-star LB Gemaus Sackie commits to Syracuse

Linebacker Gemaus Sackie committed to Syracuse, he announced on social media Sunday. Sackie, a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports, is the second linebacker in the 2026 class to choose SU. He joins Syracuse’s top-ranked defensive player of the class Jarius Rodgers, who committed in January.
Sackie, SU’s third commit in the class from New Jersey, held offers from four other schools — Maine, Monmouth, Stony Brook and Temple — before being offered by Syracuse. Though the Orange were latecomers in his recruitment, Sackie only made an official visit to SU, where he was offered the weekend of June 6.
He ranks as the 80th-best linebacker in the class and 21st-best prospect in New Jersey. Sackie will play his senior season at Burlington Township High School.
The Orange now have the 27th-best 2026 class in the nation, per 247Sports.
