IKEA United States is opening a location at Destiny USA in downtown Syracuse, the company announced Tuesday.
The popular Swedish furniture store is set to open in fall 2025, according to a Tuesday release, joining two other New York locations in Brooklyn and Long Island.
“The opening of IKEA Syracuse highlights our commitment to bring IKEA closer to the many people and make it easier and more affordable to access our home furnishing products and solutions,” CEO Javier Quiñones said in the release.
IKEA Syracuse will feature a 70,000 square-foot-store, a smaller version of most IKEA locations. The store will offer over 3,000 products, including sofas, beds and home accessories, plus a central planning area where customers can design their home spaces with the assistance of an IKEA team member.
As part of IKEA’s sustainability initiatives, the store will also house an “As-is” department, offering gently used furniture, discontinued items and additional clearance to help customers shop and furnish sustainably.
A food court, offering meatballs, hot dogs, cinnamon buns and vegetarian alternatives will also be available in-store.
“I have many fond memories of my time in Syracuse, and I’m excited to bring the IKEA experience and stylish, functional, and affordable home furnishings to both students and residents of Syracuse,” IKEA Paramus market manager and Syracuse University alum Scott Kay said in the release.
IKEA Syracuse will occupy the former At Home store at Destiny.
