Syracuse cross country wrapped up its regular season competing in the John Reif Memorial Invitational hosted by Cornell. With the postseason approaching, SU didn’t compete with a full roster, which prevented it from qualifying for team scoring.

Redshirt freshman Drew Zundell placed first in the 5K, finishing with a time of 14:48.1. Fellow redshirt freshman Asher Danielson came in second shortly after (14:49.4). Redshirt Junior Eamon Burke finished third overall with a time of 14:58.3, and redshirt freshman Omar Alsaidi finished sixth overall, less than 10 seconds behind Burke.

Sophomore Sarah Lawson had Syracuse women’s cross country’s best time (17:46.8). Freshman Mackenzie Cook was two spots behind her with a time of 18.12.4. Sophomore Lauren Augustyn, who finished with a time of 18:42.5, placed third.

Although the Orange didn’t qualify for team scoring this weekend, they’ll return to action on Friday for the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship in Louisville, Kentucky.
