Twenty-five-year-old rapper Nau’jour Grainger, also known as Toosii, has committed to Syracuse football, he announced on social media Monday. He’s an unranked recruit but has nearly 3.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

“When Coach Fran called, I knew it was a sign from God. So with that being said, Cuse I’m coming home,” Grainger wrote in his post.

Grainger played high school football at Rolesville High School (North Carolina), mostly as a wide receiver. However, he grew up in Syracuse, forging a connection with central New York early on.

In his music career, Toosii has been relatively successful. Along with his Spotify numbers, he’s accrued 4.5 million followers on Instagram and another 1.4 million on X after releasing popular songs like “Favorite Song” and “Love Hurts.”

Over the summer, Grainger hinted at taking a break from rapping and making a move to college football, posting a video on X catching passes at NC State’s facility on Aug. 18. In addition, he’d reportedly made visits to programs like Maryland, Duke and Sacramento State before choosing SU.

Grainger joins a Syracuse team looking for a revival in 2026. The Orange finished the season 3-9, losing their final eight games and finishing last in the Atlantic Coast Conference after starting quarterback Steve Angeli went down with a torn Achilles in Week 4. Though Grainger’s — who will have full eligibility when he joins SU — playing time is uncertain, he’ll look to help Syracuse return to its winning ways.
