Syracuse women’s lacrosse released its 2026 schedule Tuesday. The 16-game slate features 10 teams that made last year’s NCAA Tournament and three that advanced to the Final Four.

The Orange are in for a challenge immediately. They begin with four straight games against 2025 tournament teams, including a season-opening battle with Maryland — which SU defeated 15-9 last February — and a Feb. 13 home contest against defending national champions North Carolina. SU also faces Stanford and Loyola to round out the four-game stretch.

After three games against weaker conference opponents in Louisville, California and Virginia Tech — all of which missed the national playoffs last year — Syracuse has its next test against national runner-up Northwestern on March 12. Five days later, it squares off against Yale, which ended the Orange’s season last May in the NCAA Tournament Second Round.

The back stretch of SU’s schedule features four more tournament squads, highlighted by matchups with Virginia on March 21, Duke on April 4 and its season finale at Boston College on April 16. The Eagles fell short of their second straight national title in 2025 but handed the Orange their worst loss in 20 years in a 17-2 drubbing last year.

SU will attack its tough schedule with a completely revamped roster. After a disappointing 10-9 2025 season, head coach Kayla Treanor departed for Penn State. Former SU assistant Regy Thorpe took her place. Program pillars Olivia Adamson and Emma Ward are both gone as well.

It’ll be up to returners Emma Muchnick and Caroline Trinkaus, who both led the team in goals last year, to run the offense. Goalie Daniella Guyette and defenders Kaci Benoit and Coco Vandiver are also back to hold down the fort defensively. The group will look to bring SU to its third Final Four in four years.
