A block of Comstock Avenue will close before the spring 2026 semester for construction, Pete Sala, Syracuse University’s vice president and chief campus facilities officer, announced in a Monday email.

The closure impacts a block between Comstock Avenue, Waverly Avenue and Marshall Street, and a a result of ongoing construction projects, including new residence halls on Waverly and Comstock Avenues, Sala wrote. The email did not specify how long the closures would last.

Parking along Marshall Street from Ostrom Avenue to Comstock Avenue will be restricted for emergency vehicle access, the email states. The sidewalk on the south side of Marshall Street will be closed, meaning pedestrians will have to use the street’s north side near Haven Hall.

Sala added that signs will guide drivers and pedestrians through the detours.

Those with questions should contact the Campus Planning, Design and Construction Office, according to the email. Parking concerns can be directed to Parking and Transportation Services.
