Syracuse added former Georgetown quarterback Danny Lauter via the transfer portal, 247Sports reported Friday. Lauter recorded 2,898 passing yards and 19 touchdowns across three seasons with the Hoyas.
As the second transfer quarterback into the Orange this cycle, Lauter joins a room that now includes Steve Angeli, Amari Odom, Rich Belin and Zaid Lott. SU head coach Fran Brown emphasized adding two experienced QBs this offseason, and after picking up Odom on Jan. 10, he scooped up Lauter on the final day of the transfer portal.
Lauter was the No. 1 quarterback and No. 12 overall player out of Connecticut in the 2022 class. Per his profile on Georgetown’s website, his grandfather was a manager on Syracuse’s 1959 national title team.
Lauter redshirted in 2022 and set a program record in single-game passing yards in 2023, posting 428. The next season, he started 10 games, and in 2025, Lauter played in just three.
