SUNY ESF will not host in-person classes on Monday ahead of a severe winter storm, according to a weather alert on its website posted Friday. Only essential employees are required to report to campus.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency ahead of the extreme winter storm on Friday. Forecasts expect Syracuse to get between nine and 16 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service. Wind chills are expected to drop to minus 12 degrees with low temperatures around zero in the coming days.

The alert directs students and faculty to check their emails for further information.
