Syracuse placed seventh in the Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason Poll, earning 104 points, the conference announced Tuesday. Midfielder Emma Muchnick and defender Coco Vandiver were named to the All-ACC Preseason Team.

The Orange ranks middle of the pack in the poll and will face five higher-ranked teams this season. They open conference play against No. 1 North Carolina and No. 5 Stanford, which placed first and third, respectively. UNC handily won the vote with 169 points. SU also has five opportunities to play inferior conference foes.

Muchnick and Vandiver swept honors Tuesday, making Inside Lacrosse’s All-American squad earlier in the day. With ties in voting, Muchnick was part of a four-player midfield on the All-ACC Team, while other positions had three. The senior led Syracuse in scoring with 34 goals in 2025, converting nearly half of her shots.

Vandiver’s started in all but one of her 47 appearances with the Orange, commanding their back line. Thirty-four of her 58 career ground balls were last year, when she also caused 40 turnovers. Last year, defender Kaci Benoit made the team over Vandiver, but Vandiver earned an at-large spot over her in a six-player pool due to tiebreakers.
