Syracuse women’s rowing opens its 2026 season at No. 12 in the Preseason Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll, which was released Wednesday. The Orange finished 12th at the 2025 NCAA Championship.

SU was one of five Atlantic Coast Conference squads in the poll, trailing the reigning national and conference champion No. 1 Stanford, which received 22 of the 25 allotted first-place votes. Syracuse also sits behind No. 8 Virginia and No. 10 California but ahead of No. 18 Duke and No. 21 Clemson.

The Orange are set to face several other ranked opponents in 2026. At the Cayuga Cup on April 4, they take on No. 2 Yale. Syracuse also faces No. 11 Michigan and No. 19 Ohio State at the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual on April 25.

SU oscillated between the 10th, 11th and 12th spots in the poll last season and finds itself pitted in a similar spot. It only returns one of its four All-ACC Team members in two-seat Ellie-Kate Hutchinson. Just over half of the Orange’s varsity 8 from the conference championship is back, which also features Olivia Bachert, Katie Breeze, Niamh “Acorn” Cassidy and Antonia Pichott.
