Syracuse University’s chapter of Zeta Beta Tau is the latest of five Greek Life organizations under investigation by the Office of Community Standards, according to SU’s Hazing Awareness Hub.
The fraternity’s Omicron chapter was placed under investigative status Sunday, meaning they cannot host social events or recruit new members. ZBT will still be able to hold philanthropy and community service events during their investigation.
There is no clear timeline for investigations, which can vary based on interviews or other case-specific factors, an SU spokesperson previously told The Daily Orange.
ZBT chapter President Danny Lax wrote the chapter appreciates the guidance of the Community Standards and the Greek Life offices in a statement to The D.O.

Currently, there are five other campus organizations under investigation or on probationary status. Most recently, the women’s club volleyball was listed as “not allowed to operate” at SU following a hazing report.
