Former Syracuse forward Justus Fitzgerald has committed to Hampton, she announced on social media Monday. In her freshman season with SU, Fitzgerald averaged 2.0 points and 2.1 rebounds per game across 11 appearances.

Fitzgerald, an unranked freshman from Roswell, Georgia, played 11 minutes against Stony Brook on Nov. 4, 2025, and 15 against UAlbany on Nov. 7, 2025, but saw her minutes decrease as Atlantic Coast Conference play began. She also didn’t appear in any of Syracuse’s postseason contests.

Fitzgerald is SU’s sixth former player to announce their next destination, joining Sophie Burrows’ commitment to North Carolina, Camdyn Nelson and Jasmyn Cooper’s to Northwestern, Madeline Potts’ to Saint Joseph’s and Aurora Almón’s to Florida.

The forward joins a Hampton team in desperate need of a jolt. The Pirates went just 10-21 in 2025-26, finishing 11th in the Coastal Athletic Association.
