Syracuse men’s basketball will play Rutgers at the Barclays Center during the 2026-27 season, College Hoops Today’s Jon Rothstein reported Wednesday. The date of the game is yet to be determined.

The game, which is at the home of the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty, is the latest neutral site contest reportedly added to SU’s schedule next season.

The Orange are set to play Indiana at Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Nov. 9. They’ll take on St. John’s at Madison Square Garden on an unannounced date. Syracuse will also meet Providence at Boston’s TD Garden next season on an undetermined date.

The Scarlet Knights went 14-20 last season with a 6-14 Big Ten record and haven’t reached the NCAA Tournament since 2022. The last time SU played Rutgers was on Dec. 8, 2020, in a 79-69 loss in Piscataway to then-No. 21 Scarlet Knights.

Meanwhile, Syracuse, under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara, is trying to snap a five-year March Madness drought. Playing and potentially winning in a neutral-site power conference clash could boost the Orange’s tournament resume.
