Former Boston College attack Hanna Davis has transferred to Syracuse, Inside Lacrosse Women reported Wednesday. She’s the second player to transfer to SU this offseason — all within the last 24 hours — alongside former Virginia defender Olivia Bruno.
Davis redshirted her freshman year with the Eagles after joining them as the No. 19 overall recruit in Inside Lacrosse’s 2024 class. While she remained a reserve throughout the 2026 season, she played in 17 of BC’s 18 games and averaged nearly a goal and an assist per game with 16 apiece. The attack scored two goals six times and notched her first-ever hat trick against UAlbany.
Entering 2027 as a redshirt sophomore, she’ll have at least three years left of eligibility on an attack that desperately needs replacements for its departing players. Caroline Trinkaus — who scored 32 goals last year — reportedly entered the transfer portal Tuesday and Mackenzie Rich ran out of eligibility.
That leaves a smaller core up front with leading scorer Molly Guzik and supplemental wing players like Ashlee Volpe and Annie Parker. They’ll be joined by the ninth and 11th-ranked players in the 2026 class, per Inside Lacrosse, in Peyton Rothfuss and Casey Cummings. Davis proved she could carry a bulk of BC’s offensive production last year, finishing fifth on Boston College — which made the NCAA Tournament second round — in goals, assists and points.
Davis and her sister, Mckenna Davis — a Boston College legend and current Notre Dame assistant coach — attended Syracuse women’s lacrosse games growing up, living nearby in Canandaigua, New York. Davis played at Monsters Elite Lacrosse in the same 2024 class as Guzik and Bri Peters, which was once ranked the best in the country. Bruno and Volpe also came out of the system.
