Michael Nnabuife, a three-star tight end, has committed to Syracuse’s 2027 class, 247Sports first reported Wednesday. Nnbuife is ranked as the best at his position in his home state of Maryland, per 247Sports.
Nnabuife, currently a junior at St. Frances Academy (Maryland) and stands 6-foot-5, 242 pounds. He received offers from numerous Power Four programs before settling on the Orange, including Maryland, Alabama, Michigan State, Rutgers, South Carolina and NC State. He recently visited the Crimson Tide on June 5, but still pledged to SU.
Nnabuife is 247Sports’ 28th-best player in Maryland and 54th-best tight end in the country.
He’s Syracuse’s first tight end pickup of the class and 13th commit so far. The Orange’s class now ranks 21st in the country, though Fran Brown hasn’t reeled in anyone graded above a three-star yet.
Though Nnabuife still has one year left of high school, he’s in a prime spot to contribute immediately once he arrives at SU in fall 2027. Dan Villari, the Orange’s starting tight end in 2025, departed for the NFL, and it’s unclear who will step into the No. 1 spot in 2026.
