Three-star class of 2027 defensive lineman Jason Lewis has committed to Syracuse football, he confirmed on social media Thursday after a report from 247Sports’ Zach Blostein.
Lewis plays for Osceola High School (Florida) and is ranked as the 69th-best defensive lineman in the country and the 49th-best prospect from the Sunshine State in the 2027 class, per 247Sports.
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Lewis chose SU over Florida State and Mississippi State, schools he visited in recent weeks.
“With my recruitment, they’ve never made me feel like I wasn’t a priority,” Lewis told 247Sports of Syracuse Thursday. “Florida State did a great job at that, honestly. Florida State has always been my favorite school since I was younger. I’ve always been a Florida State fan and still even will be, but Syracuse, they just stood out. The coaching staff that’s there right now, they’re doing a phenomenal job with recruiting me.”
In nine games as a junior at Osceola, Lewis compiled 37 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 15 quarterback hurries, seven sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
He’s the sixth recruit from Florida in the Orange’s 2027 class. Lewis is also the 19th three-star prospect to commit to Syracuse, part of a recruiting class ranked 40th in the nation.
