French guard Célaine Ricco has committed to play for Syracuse women’s basketball, the team announced Friday. Ricco, 20, is the eighth addition to SU’s 2026-27 roster this offseason and is one of five players born outside of the United States on SU’s current roster.

The Seine-et-Marne, France, native is currently playing in the 2026 FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket tournament, which concludes on Sunday. The 5-foot-7 guard has also represented Les Bleues in the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket and the 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup.

While in high school, Ricco won the U18 French National Championship at USOMondeville, a professional women’s basketball club in Mondeville, France. Her new school, Syracuse, reached its second NCAA Tournament under Felisha Legette-Jack last season before losing to No. 1 seed UConn in the second round.
