Syracuse women’s lacrosse adds 4-star Ava Ryan to 2028 class

For the second straight day, Syracuse women’s lacrosse bolstered its 2028 recruiting class. The Orange added four-star attack Ava Ryan, she announced Friday morning after SU earned three-star defender Addie Talbott’s commitment Thursday. Ryan and Talbott make up SU’s incoming 2028 players thus far.
A Yorktown Heights, New York, native, Ryan plays for Yorktown High School and Compass Lacrosse. She also joined Team Ireland at the 2026 World Lacrosse Championship in Tokyo in late July and early August, totaling 12 points in the tournament, the third-most on the Irish squad.
Although she’s not nationally ranked, Ryan was given a grade of 90 by Inside Lacrosse. She also earned 2025 All-Section honors in field hockey and plays varsity basketball for the Huskers, per her recruiting profile.
By adding Ryan, SU has the ninth-ranked recruiting class in the nation, notably behind Atlantic Coast Conference foes Stanford, Clemson and North Carolina.
