UU to host Harvest Fest with farmer’s market, student DJ competition

University Union is hosting Harvest Fest, a benefit event with food trucks, a farmer’s market and a student DJ competition on Oct. 18 from 12 to 5 p.m. at Walnut Park, it announced Sunday.
For the first four hours of the event, the DJ competition will take place, with the winner choosing which charity the proceeds will go to. While students listen to the DJs battle their beats, they can sample six different food trucks and shop for fresh produce from the farmers market.
Free entry is available for all Syracuse University and SUNY ESF students.
In partnership with the Student Government Association and Greek Council, the event marks the first collaboration with UU and other student organizations this school year.
“I’m glad to be continuing this partnership in full stride with SGA and Greek Council,” UU’s President Lachlan Sartison said in a release. “And being able to provide a space for families and students to enjoy a fall kickoff is a very rewarding experience for our team.”
