Syracuse's comeback attempt falls through in 11-10 loss at No. 6 Northwestern

As Taylor Gait cleared the ball with about 2:30 left in Syracuse’s game against Northwestern, Wildcats attack Kara Mupo swung her stick, just missing Gait’s head. The missed check was enough to draw a yellow card, which gave the Orange an extra player and a chance to tie the game. Richardson turns in improved performance from last weekend against Canisius

In the Orange’s Feb. 7 doubleheader against Denver and Canisius, Kelsey Richardson managed just 10 saves on 29 shots and allowed four goals on eight free positions. But this week, Richardson said she watched film of Canisius, noticing that its shooters shot low on free positions.
