Following its ninth NCAA Tournament berth under head coach Ian McIntyre in 2025, Syracuse men’s soccer will play 16 regular-season matches, eight of which are against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents, throughout its 2026 schedule, released Friday.
McIntyre’s side hosts Marist (Aug. 8) and Mercyhurst (Aug. 11) before traveling to Penn State (Aug. 14) for preseason matches. The Orange’s first regular-season match is in Storrs, Connecticut, against UConn on Aug. 20. Three days later, they play their first home regular-season game against New Hampshire.
Four consecutive matches at SU Soccer Stadium against Loyola (Aug. 28), Iona (Aug. 31), Clemson (Sept. 4) and St. John’s (Sept. 9) fill the rest of August and the beginning of September. The Orange then trek to Boston College (Sept. 12) and Colgate (Sept. 15) before returning home to play Le Moyne on Sept. 19. The last time SU played Le Moyne was one of the program’s greatest upsets and could prove an even tougher test after SU won just one nonconference home match in 2025.
A slew of ACC opponents — Notre Dame (Sept. 25), Pittsburgh (Oct. 2), Louisville (Oct. 10), Wake Forest (Oct. 17), Virginia (Oct. 24) and Virginia Tech (Oct. 30) — feature in Syracuse’s remaining matches. However, sandwiched between its conference gauntlet is an enticing away matchup against NCAA quarterfinalist Akron (Oct. 10).
Syracuse found its form late last season, particularly in tournament play. The Orange notched three victories over ranked teams in the final two months, notably a win at No. 5 NC State in the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals. Yet, the Orange capitulated in the ACC Tournament and were bleak in the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse and McIntyre hope to turn their late-season form into consistent performances in 2026.
